I love this recipe, but took out the sugar, garlic, olives, capers and prunes. I did add 1 chopped shallot and put it dried apricots instead. It reheats well and is the absolute perfect chicken dish to take to a potluck! NOTE: let brown on top a little bit, stir every 20 minutes or so and allow yourself an hour and a half to two hours cooking time.
My mom makes this every time we come home for a visit (because my kid told her that its the only chicken she likes to eat). It’s kinda weird with the olives, capers, and prunes, but it sure makes for tender, juicy, sweet/salty chicken, that really does re-heat well.
