My good pal and sister-in-nutrition Natasha told me about local, organic sunflower oil available at the Cayuga Organics stand at the Union Square farmer’s market. I just bought some today (16 oz for $10). It’s grown and processed in NY state, and I just opened the bottle. It does smell like sunflower seeds, and it vaguely tastes like them, too. It has a deep yellow color and a smoke point of 350 (so no super high heat cooking).
Local, organic cooking oil?
